Getting a Quote

How does Green Fence Texas work?
Green Fence Texas is a browser-based quote planner for living privacy fences on Texas properties. You enter your address, draw your privacy line on a satellite map, customize evergreen plants and spacing, compare 3-gallon, 5-gallon, and 15-gallon options, and submit an estimate for team review. There is no app download required โ€” it works on your phone, tablet, or desktop.
Do I need to schedule a visit before I can get a quote?
No. You can start online right away by mapping your privacy plan and submitting an estimate. Our team reviews your submitted plan and may follow up with questions or a site visit if needed before sending a final quote for approval.
Is the online quote a final price?
No. Your online total is an estimate pending final review. Your final quote will be reviewed by our team before approval. Pricing may be adjusted based on access, site conditions, plant availability, and selected add-ons.
What happens after I submit my quote request?
Our team reviews your mapped privacy plan, plant selections, spacing, and project details. We may contact you with clarifying questions or suggested adjustments. Once reviewed, you receive a final quote for approval before any payment is collected.
Can I request changes after I submit my quote?
Yes. Contact Green Fence Texas if you want to adjust plant species, sizes, spacing, or project scope after submitting. We can often update your plan during review before a final quote is sent.

Mapping Your Privacy Plan

How do I use the map to plan my privacy fence?
Enter your property address (or use current location where supported), then draw one or more privacy lines on the satellite map where you want evergreen screening. The planner places plant markers along your line with spacing you can adjust. Tap a marker to change species or gallon size, then continue to review and submit.
Do I need to know exact measurements before starting?
No. You do not need survey-perfect measurements to get started. Draw your privacy line as closely as you can on the map โ€” our team refines spacing, plant counts, and layout during review. Approximate planning is enough to begin.
What if I'm not very comfortable with technology?
The planner is designed to be straightforward on a phone or computer. If you get stuck, use our step-by-step planner guide or FAQ for help. You can also contact Green Fence Texas โ€” we are happy to walk you through the process.
Can I draw multiple privacy areas or segments?
Yes. You can draw multiple segments for different sides of your property, a pool area, a side yard, or separate screening zones. Each segment can have its own spacing and plant settings where supported.
Can I choose different plants in different parts of the same project?
Yes. You can customize individual plant markers or apply species and sizes to a full segment or the entire perimeter, depending on what the planner supports for your layout.
Can I adjust spacing or remove plants from the suggested layout?
Yes. Spacing presets and individual adjustments help you compare tighter privacy hedge spacing versus wider mature spacing. You can also remove plants where the layout allows, as long as each segment keeps a valid planting line.

Plants, Sizes, and Growth

What plant sizes do you offer?
We commonly quote 3-gallon, 5-gallon, and 15-gallon container sizes for our controlled evergreen screening catalog. Each size represents a container category โ€” not an identical above-ground height for every plant.
What's the difference between 3-gallon, 5-gallon, and 15-gallon plants?
3-gallon is typically the most budget-friendly starter size. 5-gallon is our common default for homeowners balancing cost and early structure. 15-gallon is a larger fast-start option with more day-one presence. All are living plants โ€” exact height, width, and fullness can vary by grower, season, and individual plant.
Can Green Fence Texas guarantee the exact height or width of every plant installed?
No. Plant material is living material. Installed plants are selected to meet the ordered size class, but exact height, width, caliper, and fullness can vary naturally by grower, season, availability, and individual plant.
Why might plant size vary slightly from one plant to another?
Even within the same container size, nursery-grown plants differ based on species, grower, season, pruning history, and how they were grown. We select healthy plants that fit the ordered size class, but living material is not identical like manufactured products.
How long does it take for a living privacy fence to fill in?
Results vary based on plant variety, spacing, site conditions, watering, weather, sun, soil, and care. As a conservative guide: 3-gallon plants often take roughly 7โ€“10+ years to develop a stronger privacy screen; 5-gallon plants often take roughly 5โ€“7 years; and 15-gallon plants often take roughly 2โ€“4 years. These are estimates, not guarantees.
Will my living privacy fence provide instant full privacy?
No. Smaller starter material especially will not provide instant full privacy. Even larger 15-gallon plants need time to grow together. Living privacy fences fill in over seasons and years with proper care.
Are the plants evergreen?
Our controlled catalog focuses on evergreen shrubs and small trees commonly used for year-round Texas screening โ€” hollies, junipers, wax myrtle, selected magnolias, eastern red cedar, and Arizona cypress. Final recommendations depend on your site and review.
How do you choose which plants are recommended for my project?
Your selections in the planner are a starting point. Our team confirms final suitability based on sunlight, water, soil, spacing, drainage, HOA limits, access, and plant availability during review.

Installation and Site Prep

Do you install the plants too?
Yes. Installed pricing in your estimate includes selected plant material and standard planting labor. Final scope is confirmed during team review.
What happens after I approve my quote?
After you approve your final reviewed quote, we coordinate scheduling, confirm plant availability, and plan installation access. Payment timing is explained in your final quote โ€” typically a deposit to schedule and remaining balance after final confirmation.
Do I need to be home for installation?
It helps to be available or reachable for access questions, gate codes, and final walkthrough notes. Our team will confirm expectations when scheduling.
What if there is existing grass, mulch, irrigation, or a narrow side yard?
Note these conditions in your project notes. Narrow side yards, existing irrigation lines, and tight access can affect layout and pricing. Our team reviews these during quote approval.
Can you work around pools, fences, gates, and utilities?
Often yes, within practical planting limits. Mark these areas on your map and describe them in your notes so our team can plan spacing and access. Utility lines should be located by the property owner where required before digging.
What if my property has access limitations or difficult areas?
Describe access paths, slopes, and obstacles in your submission. Difficult access may affect final pricing or planting approach โ€” our team confirms this during review rather than at blind checkout.

Pricing, Review, and Payment

What is included in my estimate?
Your estimate typically includes selected plant material and standard planting labor at the sizes and counts shown in your planner, plus applicable estimated sales tax. Add-ons such as mulch, irrigation, or soil amendment may be quoted separately if selected.
Why does my quote say estimated total pending final review?
Because your online plan is a starting estimate, not a final contract price. Estimated total pending final review. Your final quote will be reviewed by our team before approval.
Can pricing change after review?
Yes. Final pricing may be adjusted based on site access, plant availability, spacing refinements, add-ons, and conditions observed during review. You approve the final quote before payment.
What factors can affect final pricing?
Common factors include total linear feet, plant species and sizes, spacing, access difficulty, slope, removal of existing material, add-on services, plant availability, and sales tax confirmation.
Do you offer lower-cost and faster-privacy options?
Yes. Compare 3-gallon, 5-gallon, and 15-gallon sizes in the planner to balance upfront cost versus how quickly plants may develop structure. Larger sizes cost more initially but often provide earlier visual presence โ€” still not instant full privacy.
When would payment be due?
Payment terms are confirmed on your final reviewed quote. Typically a deposit schedules your project, with the remaining balance due after final confirmation โ€” not at the initial online estimate step.

Coverage and Care

What 30-Day Coverage do you offer?
Green Fence Texas offers 30-Day Coverage. Plants are covered as delivered and installed healthy for the first 30 days. This limited establishment coverage keeps pricing simpler and more affordable โ€” it is not a multi-year survival guarantee.
Do you guarantee long-term survival or a specific growth rate?
No. We do not guarantee long-term survival, a specific growth rate, or exact future height or privacy. After the 30-day establishment coverage period, plant health depends on watering, weather, drainage, soil, sunlight, pests, animals, heat/freeze events, and ongoing care.
What happens if a plant has a problem shortly after installation?
Contact us promptly during the first 30 days if a plant shows signs of failure. We will inspect the site and confirm eligibility under our 30-Day Coverage. After 30 days, replacement is not covered unless separately agreed.
How much does watering and care matter after planting?
A great deal. Even hardy Texas evergreens need consistent watering through establishment โ€” especially in heat. Ongoing care, pruning, and site conditions strongly affect how quickly plants fill in and how well they perform long term.
Can Green Fence Texas help me understand how to care for the plants after installation?
Yes. We can share practical watering and establishment guidance. Optional care-plan add-ons may be available depending on your project. Long-term success still depends on your site and ongoing maintenance.
